John Weller smacked a six in his 16-dolls to help Premier Section side George to a 3-0 win at Section 1 team Garsington Sports Club A, writes ANDY BEAL.

Steve Walton (5-5-5) provided good support as the George racked up 95 dolls in a 30-27, 32-26, 33-29 scoreline.

Three Pigeons lost 2-1 at home to Cricketers in the Premier Section – despite hitting seven more dolls than their opponents in a high-scoring affair.

Having set 29 in the opening leg, Three Pigeons were pipped by the odd doll as Cricketers replied with 30.

Cricketers then set 29 in the second leg and Three Pigeons fell one short with 28.

Three Pigeons then banged in a massive 33 in the final leg, Cricketers managing only 24 in reply.

Neil Lyon (14), Pete Dempsey (12) and Dave Townsend (12) hit a six each for Three Pigeons, while John Town-send (14) and Den Sellar (14) notched sixes for Cricketers.

Adrian Shepherd (5-3-5) hit a baker’s dozen (5-3-5) in New Club’s 2-1 home win over Black Swan to stay top of Section 1.

New Club won the first leg 27-24, but had to rely on three sticks in the next after it was tied 24-24, before Black Swan took the last 30-22.

Alan Holt (6-4-4) top-scored with 14 dolls for the Punch Bowl, but it was all in vain as they lost out 2-1 to Squire Bassett.

Teammate David Leopold (4-5-4) chipped in with 13 dolls.

Dick Brownsill (4-3-6) hit his first six of the season as he clanged off 13 dolls to lead Tiddington Cricket Club to a 3-0 win at North Oxford Conservative Club in Section 3.

Masons put a big dent in the Griffin’s Section 4 title ambitions with a 3-0 victory.

Jim Gaul, with a six in his 11-doll haul, led the way for the victors.

Fairview Inn also slipped up in a 3-0 defeat at Quarry Gate. Lead-off man Graham Morton (4-2-6) set the standard.

Martyn Boulton (5-4-5) clanged off 14 dolls to inspire Folly Bridge Inn to a 2-1 win at King & Queen in Section 5.

Kevin Stone (4-5-6) whipped off 15 dolls, including a six as Donnington Club remained second in Section 6 by demolishing Nut Tree 3-0.

Teammate Anthony Hayes (2-6-3) provided good back-up with 11 dolls in leg scores of 19-6, 23-12, 25-19.

Nelson A stay top after beating Catherine Wheel 2-1.

Andy Walls and Steve Ledwell top-scored for Nelson with 11 dolls apiece.

Anchor man Ian Gardiner hit the winning dolls in the last two legs as Viking Sports C edged out Littlemore Rugby Club 3-0, with the leg scores 18-17 on each occasion.

Chequers B hold a one-point lead in Section 7 after beating Brill Social Club B 3-0.

Section 8 leaders Golden Ball A had to rely on two three-stick successes to see them through 3-0 against White Hart.
