IT was a family affair for Radley at the annual Middle-sex Trophy meeting in Peri-vale, Middlesex.

Their team (pictued above with their silverware) included father and daughter Mick and Abbey Cottam, mother and daughter Elaine and Faith Brew, as well as James and Adam Breslin and their mother Jackie.

Also competing were husband and wife Lyn and Alex Ahmet, sisters Hayley and Amelia Perrin and brother and sister Jack, and Megan Humphreys.

Radley came away with the junior girls and senior women’s trophy, the junior boys’ trophy and a special under 15 one-mile trophy for Megan Humphreys.

In the under 13 age group, Freya Rowe won the 800m A string in 2.37.7 and B string 100m in 15.0, while Georgina Sunderland landed a hat-trick of wins in the 75m hurdles (11.9) B string 100m (13.1) and shot (8.87m).

Lois Waknell was also a treble winner in the A string 100m (12.5), 200m (26.1) and long jump (4.70).

There was a double for Hayley Perrin in the senior ladies’ event and Radley had a clean sweep in the 4x100m relays, with the under 13 girls winning in 1.01.6, under 15s in 54.8, under 17s in 54.6 and seniors in 1.06.5.

Overall in the battle for the Middlesex Trophy, Radley’s team finished a creditable third out of seven teams.

Senior ladies – B string high jump: E Brew 1.30m. 100mH: E Brew 21.7. Long jump: L Ahmet 3.35.

U13 boys – 200m: H Newell 29.8. U15 boys – One-mile: C von Eitzen 4.53.6. B string hammer: J Breslin 14.02. U17 boys – Long jump: J Dorrian 6.17. One-mile: C Hewitt 4.50.8.

* Abingdon Ambler Paul Fernandez won the Fairlands Valley 50K challenge.

In wet and slippery conditions, Fernandez clocked an impressive 3hrs 57mins.
