A superb innings of 116 not out from Joel Washbourne-Calcutt was in vain as Bartholomew (Eynsham) slipped to a seven-wicket defeat against Burford School in the Oxfordshire Under 14 League.
Batting first, Bartholomew rattled up a formidable 169-3 in their 20 overs.
But it was not enough as Burford reached 172-3, Jamie Nelson scoring 72 not out and Jeremy Kirby 63.
Burford had further success in Oxfordshire Under 13 League play-off quarter-final.
They posted 107-5 against Cooper School, Bicester, Matthew Doe scoring 32.
Josh Knibbs then took 3-13 as Cooper were all out for 85.
