Joe Barrett slammed a super century as Oxfordshire Under 15s continued their unbeaten season with a crushing 118-run victory over Wiltshire in the ECB County Cup at Magdalen College School.

The visitors won the toss and with a damp wicket, asked Oxon to bat.

Barrett and Dom O’Connor got Oxon off to a steady start, sharing 40 for the first wicket.

When O’Connor was out, captain Andrew Tolson joined Barrett at the crease and the pair proceeded to share a magnifcent second-wicket stand of 189.

The pair batted with great maturity, punishing the bad balls at every opportunity.

Barrett was finally out for a brilliant 104, while Tolson soon followed for 93.

But the stand put Oxon in a strong position, from which they never looked back.

Miles Hammond smashed 32, including three sixes as Oxon finished on 291-5 off their 50 overs – 103 coming in the last ten overs.

Wiltshire’s reply started badly as Barrett removed the dangerous Tom Alsop cheaply.

James Gillespie and Duncan Lorran put on 97 for the second wicket as Wiltshire built a solid platform.

But the introduction of spin put paid to the visitors’ hopes of victory.

Dan Todd bowled tightly, conceding 23 from his ten overs, while Hammond, Markus Jeacock, Ryan Moore and Christian Hollingsworth took two wickets apiece as Wiltshire fell to 173 all out.
