Oxford A are through to the semi-finals of the Inter-Area Cup after a 7-3 aggregate victory over Wallingford B, writes PETE EWINS.
Going into the second leg with a 3-2 lead, Oxford produced a commanding display.
Stuart Florey and Steven Sheard ensured victory by winning the first two matches.
Kevin Godfrey (10,170) and Mark Trafford (12,870) then made it 4-0, but Gary Johnson denied Oxford the whitewash by beating Dave Tooke in the final rubber.
Oxford now meet Northants A in the semi-final.
Marlborough Club won their first match in Group A of the summer season after a 4-2 victory over Bletchingdon Club.
Chris Bateman (3,350 & 6,180) and Chris Iagoe (10,710 & 3,300) starred for the hosts with Andy Skinner claiming Bletchingdon’s two poi-nts.
In Group B, Masons A pulled off a superb 5-1 win at Gladiators A, with Mick Murphy, Martyn Wood and Alan Lowe all recording victories.
