Laura Watkins is the Bicester ladies champion for the seventh year running.

Watkins, who has been champion since she was 14, played two consistent rounds of 74 and 81 to finish eight shots clear of her rivals.

Lesley Freeman was second, with Suzy Harrison third, although Harrison did have the consolation of winning the handicap title.

Nathan Gibbard was the men’s winner, with Carlton Holmes-Smith the handicap champion.

l LEO Kennedy dominated the Kirtlington Club Championship, not only winning the gross title with rounds of 70 and 71, but also the nett prize as well off his handicap of five.

l AROUND 350 members played in the Captain’s Day at Frilford Heath, which raised over £2,000 for the Tony Payne’s charity, the Oxford Group of the Haemophilia Society.

The round of the day came from junior Tarrant Tonks, with 41 points.
