OCA League Divisions 1-4

WESTBURY crushed Division 1 whipping boys Marcham by 264 runs on Saturday, dec-laring their innings after 35 overs.

Batting first, Marcham raced to 291-4 with Tom Wilson hitting 102 and Harry Smith 78.

Showing some mercy to Marcham’s hapless attack, Westbury captain Richard Tredwell made the rare decision to declare, before Andy Clarke took 5-8 and Sam Stoop 5-11 as the visitors were shot out for 27.

Spinner Jack Simpson took 6-6 in 5.5 overs, but finished on the losing side as leaders Garsington beat Minster Lovell by 53 runs.

Garsington were all out for 180, only for Minster to fall for 127 in reply.

Shrivenham crushed Tet-sworth by 148 runs.

Conor Taylor (78no) and Shaz Khan (73) led Shrivenham to a formidable 253-7, before Scott Valentine took 4-15 as Tetsworth were shot out for 105.

Horley thumped Charlbury by nine wickets.

Steve Palmer’s 4-39 helped to restrict the home side to 146-8, before Dave Eaton (86no) and Nick Tarrant (55) saw Horley to 147-1.

East Oxford defeated Great Horwood by 27 runs.

Urfan Ahmed hit 36 in East Oxford’s 142 all out, and then Ali Malik claimed 3-20 to help dismiss Horwood for 115.

Broughton & North Newington marched on at the top of Division 2 with a two wicket victory over winless Witney Swifts.

Batting first, Swifts were bowled out for 179, before Jason Tilcock hit 59 to see Broughton to 180-8.

Second-placed Marsh Gibbon slipped up as they were beaten by five wickets at Hook Norton.

Gibbon crawled to 127-6, then Hooky reached 130-5, despite 5-22 from Wayne Platts.

Sesh Nadathur hit 70 in Oxenford’s 180-9 against Stonesfield.

It set up a 53-run win as Stonesfield fell to 127 all out, Aaron Hirtenstein taking 4-26.

At the foot of the table, Freeland edged out Faringdon by two wickets.

Watlington maintained their Division 3 title bid with a 41-run win over Winslow.

Watlington were dismissed for 126, before 3-11 from Phil Taylor and 3-23 from Neil Maguire saw Winslow crash to 85 all out in reply.

Chadlington won a low-scoring clash with Eynsham by 31 runs.

Kristofer Clark claimed 6-35 to help dismiss Chadlington for only 92.

But Eynsham fared even worse, crashing for 61, Steve Hunt taking 5-14.

Combe’s Umair Ghazali slammed 138 as his side saw off Clifton Hampden by 78 runs.

Combe rattled up 260-5, Charile Arber adding 88.

Clifton replied with 182-6.

East Oxford 2nd cruised to an eight-wicket win at home to East & West Hendred, while Westcott saw off West Ilsley by 124 runs.

In Division 4, Britwell Salome marched on at the top with an 86-run victory over Oxford Rescue.

Andy Herrington scored his second successive ton (106no) to help Britwell to 240-3.

Neil Lawrence then claimed 4-30 as Rescue were all out for 154.

Chipping Norton eased to a 57-run win at Kennington.

Ben Tew (52) helped Chippy to 205 all out, before Martin Elliott (4-31) and Adrian Underhill (3-7) combined to dismiss the home side for 148, Jai Patel scoring 81.

Omar Hussain’s excellent 81 saw Hailey to 181 all out at Radley.

Perry Tinson claimed 4-9 as Radley were all out for 62.

Deddington’s Manish Ver-ma had a good day, taking six wickets and top-scoring in his side’s 50-run win at Wootton & Boars Hill.

Verma hit 35 in Deddington’s 138 all out, before claiming 6-16 as Wootton were shot out for 88.
