Oxford professional Adam Wootton has been drawn alongside former champion and Ryder Cup captain Tom Lehman when he makes his Open Championship debut at Royal St George’s, Sandwich, on Thursday.

The 23rd-year-old, who works at Oxford Golf Centre and is a member of Oxford City, will tee off his first round at 3.38pm alongside 1986 champion Lehman and USPGA tour player Ryan Palmer.

For Friday’s second round, the trio will go off at 10.48am.

Craig Hinton, the 22-year-old amateur, from The Oxfordshire, will play alongside American Jason Dufner and Frenchman Gregory Bourdy.

Their respective first and second-round tee-off times are 10.04am and 3.05pm.

European Tour regular Gary Boyd, from Banbury, partners Jung-Gon Hwang, from Korea, and recent American tour winner Robert Garrigus.

US Open winner and favourite Rory McIlroy will play alongside Ernie Els and rising American star Rickie Fowler.

Defending champion Louis Oosthuizen has been drawn with Phil Mickelson and US PGA champion Martin Kaymer.

World No 1 Luke Donald plays with Spain’s Sergio Garcia and Japan’s Ryo Ishikawa.
