OLI Tite broke Witney Lakes’ amateur course record as he won his fifth successive club championship.
Tite carded a six-under-par 65 in round two to beat the previous mark by one shot and clinch the Gunpoint-sponsored event by three from Richard Connor.
There were ideal scoring conditions across the weekend, which saw Connor take the lead in round one with a level-par 71.
Tite and Kerr Drummond were a shot back on 72.
Tite reached the turn in six-under-par on day two and came back in level par.
Former Oxford United footballer Jamie Cook, a one-handicapper, finished third after rounds of 74 and 69.
Charles Normanton won Witney Lakes’ handicap title after edging out Clive Swaddling on countback, with both players finishing on nine-under-par.
Two-handicapper Connor backed up his gross second place with third spot on six-under.
- CHIPPING Norton’s Matt Johnson maintained his good form by winning the Burnham Beeches Open.
Johnson, who recently retained his BB&O Colts Championship, shot rounds of 67 and 70 for a three-under-par total.
- CHIPPING Norton’s Grahame Gardner leads the Central Sevens League Division 1 order of merit table with five wins and a half from his six matches.
Chippy top the table by one point from Shrivenham after collecting four wins from six matches.
