Paul Holt was in devastating form as Squire Bassett beat the Punch Bowl 3-0 in Section 2.

Although missing out on a six, Holt bagged 15 dolls (5-5-5) in an impressive individual performance.

His efforts ensure Bassett won the match with leg scores of 24-20, 26-18, 22-17.

Ted Houghton hit his best ever score for many a year, 14, as Red Lion Brill as beat Chequers A 2-1.

Houghton claimed 5-5-4, which helped his side to victory despite the efforts of Peter Bailey and Richard Dun, who both hit a dozen dolls (5-4-3) for Chequers.

Steve Brandon hit a rare six in his dozen dolls for Six Bells Quarry, but they still lost 2-1 to the White Hart B.

It was a very long night when Six Bells C Kidlington took on White Hart A in the Premier Section.

The first leg was tied 25-25, the three-stick shoot-out was also level at 10-10 – as was the one-stick leg, 5-5.

That meant a return to six sticks, with Six Bells coming out on top 28-27.

They also took the second leg on three sticks, with White Hart collecting a consolation point by winning the final leg.

Three players from the George bagged themselves a six, Francis Hillier (6-4-3), Steve Walton (6-3-4) and Willy Waite (3-6-3), but they still went down 2-1 to Garsington Sports Club, for whom Garry Smith clanged off a maximum in his 13-doll haul (3-4-6).

Eddie Edwards and Neil Lyon both hit 15 dolls (4-6-5) as the Three Pigeons beat Cricketers 2-1.

Den Seller top-scored for the Cricketers with 14 (4-6-4).

Three Horseshoes moved up to second spot in Section 3 after some impressive throwing from Phil Jackson (3-4-6) and Andy Lewis (3-6-4) earned them a 2-1 victory against Ampleforth Arms.

In Section 5, Brian Fell hit his first-ever six for King & Queen, but they still lost 3-0 to Folly Bridge.

The top two clashed in Section 7, with Kidlington Sports beating Northway Club 13-17, 17-14, 13-9.

Ray Barson hit 12 dolls for Red Lion B Cassington in their 3-0 win over Donnington Arms in Section 8.
