WOODSTOCK Harrier Steve Naylor was never challenged as he romped to victory in the Oxfordshire 5k track championships at Iffley Road.
The race formed part of the Town v Gown fixture, with the county competing against Oxford and Oxford Brookes Universities.
The county comfortably won both the women’s and men’s competitions.
Naylor, running for the county, clocked 15mins 02.10secs for a comprehensive victory, with Oxford University’s Alex Muir second in 15.55.00.
Abingdon Ambler Oz Ellis was third in 16.17.7, with White Horse Harrier Paul Jegou fourth in 16.19.50.
Noelle Lopez, running for the university, won the women’s race in 18.45.4, while Lauren Tolmie, representing the county, crossed the line second in 18.50.40.
In the county 3,000m walk, Graham Chapman (Headington Roadrunners) took gold in 15.49.7, while European veterans’ champion Noel Blatchford, of Abingdon, won the women’s race in 17.52.00.
