DEAN Windass has added his name to the list of confirmed players for the Joey Beauchamp/Dave Langan testimonial match at the Kassam Stadium on Friday, July 8.

The striker, who still holds the record as the most expensive player bought by Oxford United following a £470,000 move from Aberdeen in 1998, scored 18 in his one season before a £1m switch to Bradford.

He will be joined by George Lawrence, Stuart Massey and Les Robinson in the benefit game to honour two of United’s best players from the last 25 years.

Lawrence made 101 starts for Oxford between 1981-85, while Massey was a key player on the opposite flank to Beauchamp when the U’s won promotion out of what is now League One in 1996.

Robinson was United’s club captain in the 1990s.

Already confirmed for the game are centre backs Matt Elliott and Phil Gilchrist, as well as Malcolm Shotton, Paul Powell, Mike Ford, David Rush, Trevor Hebberd and Alan Judge.

The game will kick off at 7.30pm, with the sides managed by two Oxford greats, Jim Smith and Denis Smith.

Tickets are available from the club’s ticket office on 01865 337533 or online at oufctickets.co.uk.

Tickets are priced at £10 for adults and £5 for children, over 65s and students.
