SKIPPER Simon Hole praised his Shipton-under-Wychwood team for maintaining their amazing winning streak at home after their six-wicket success against Challow & Childrey.

Hole’s side cruised home in the Oxfordshire final with more than seven overs left.

He said: “We’re obviously delighted to have won, but we were always pretty confident after we had bowled so well.

“Restricting them to that total of 141 was a good effort from all of the bowlers.

“Charlie (Brain) batted superbly. It was a chanceless knock, and it’s just what he's capable of doing.

“But we have a very strong batting line-up, with the likes of Andy Hemming coming in at No 6, it’s the big strength in our side.”

Hole’s Challow counterpart Nigel Hume was philsophical about the defeat.

“We’ve done really well just to reach this stage,” he said.

“We have not been in the competition for many years, and we’ve beaten some good sides to get to the final, so the boys can be very proud of their efforts.

“We will now focus on our main priority, and that is the league.”

Hume paid tribute to injured Joe Harris, who was taken to hospital by ambulance after dislocating his knee.

“I would like to wish Joe well and we all hope he makes a very swift recovery,” he said.
