There was a thrilling tie in Division 10 of the MP Sports Cherwell League as Thame 3rd and Great & Little Tew 4th finished all square.

Replying to Tew’s 162, Thame looked on course as youngsters James Hawkes (54) and Sam Alexander (51) helped them to 162-6.

However, Alexander was then dismissed, followed by two more quick wickets and then last-man John Phippen played on first ball to leave the match tied.

Veteran Phil Evans hit 119 for Abingdon Vale 3rd as they drew with Kimble 2nd in Division 8.

Vale reached 216-4, the home side replying with 154-7.

There was another century-maker in this division, as Tim Hardy hit an undefeated 138 in Oxford Downs 3rd’s 263-3.

However, opponents Banbury 4th also found runs easy to come by as they replied with 175-7, Andrew Jones scoring 74.

Horspath 4th remain just clear of Cublington 2nd in Division 9 after defeating Bledlow Village 3rd by six wickets.

Star of the show was Horspath’s Paul Alder, who claimed figures of 7-41 as Bledlow Village were dismissed for 113.
