A superb unbroken eighth-wicket stand of 106 between Thad Cooper and Wes Morrick saw Aston Rowant come back from a precarious position to post a 36-run victory at Burnham in Division 2 West.
Batting first, Rowant were in dire trouble at 88-7 before Cooper joined captain Morrick at the crease.
The pair both scored half-centuries to help Rowant to a competitive 194-7 from their 60 overs.
Burnham seized the early initiaitve, Aftab Khan finishing with three wickets from a marathon 30-over spell, while only Karl Penhale getting to grips with the visitors’ attack at the top of the order.
Morrick and Cooper’s stand gave Rowant a renewed confidence, and Burnham were in similar disarray at 82-6.
But unlike Rowant, they were unable to rebuild, Morrick finishing with 5-56 as Burnham were bowled out in the 55th over for 158.
