A RECORD-breaking run by their 4 x 400m relay team earned Radley an exciting victory in their Southern League Division 2 match at Tilsley Park, Abingdon.

With the result in the balance following an exciting duel with Oxford City, Radley’s team of Davis Olusile, Osman Muskwe, Jack Humphreys and Henry Tufnell not only won the race by a big margin, but broke their club record which had stood since 2004.

They clocked 3mins 31.7secs to secure Radley victory by 321/2 points.

Stuart Ferguson had a busy day, winning the 800m, 1500m and 3000m steeplechase. Multi-eventer Muskwe, despite a shoulder injury which forced him to throw 20m under par in the javelin and withdraw from the discus, amassed three wins and two second places.

Hurdler Corey Brooks was second in his first 400mH race of the season, clocking 1.08.2 and also debuted in the 110mH for another second place.

Phil Davies ran a super 3000m steeplechase, knocking almost 20 seconds off his previous time to clock 13.24.9.

Under 17 Chris Hewitt also made his debut in the men’s team, winning the B string 1500m in a pb of 4.27.8.

The win has moved Radley up to second in the league, four points behind leaders Basingstoke.
