Abi Laker retained her Oxfordshire girls’ junior championship in style with a dominant victory at Kirtlington.

The Burford member carded a 71 to finish ten shots ahead of Studley Wood’s Gemma Clem-ents. Sophie Stone (Oxon affiliated) was third on 83.

Chipping Norton’s Harriet Hancock took the handicap title with a nett 71.

Millie Anderson (Badgemore Park) was runner up on 73, with Chipping Norton’s Imogen Vessey third on 74.

Sophie Herring (Studley Wood) won the stableford competition with 34 points.

Kirtlington’s Elisha Gujral triumphed in the nine-hole event with 28 points, ahead of Danielle Benger (Studley Wood) on 26 and Camilla Hancock (Chipping Norton) on 25.

Emily Hastings won the Academy Course par-three competition with 30 points.

EDDIE Pepperell missed the cut during his second tournament as a professional.

The 20-year-old Drayton Park member from Abingdon carded rounds of 75 and 72 at the European Challenge Tour’s Kärnten Open in Klagenfurt, Austria.

This left him on three-over-par, with the cut at 144.

THE Oxfordshire’s Craig Hinton finished joint tenth in the St Andrews Links Trophy after rounds of 72, 73, 70 and 72.

FOUR Oxfordshire pros will compete in the Glenmuir PGA Professional Championship at The Belfry next week.

Martin Morbey (Southfield), Tom Fleming (Frilford Heath), Lee Jackson (North Oxford) and West Berks pro Paul Simpson, who lives in Witney, tee off on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Morbey and Dusan Gavrilovic (Studley Wood) compete in the De Vere Club PGA Seniors Championship at Northumberland’s Slaley Hall, starting today.

Star names include Sandy Lyle, Wayne Grady, Sam Torrance, Ian Woosnam and Mark James.
