CHAMPIONS Oxford A roared into the quarter-finals of the Inter-Area Cup after beating Wallingford C 5-0 for a 10-0 whitewash on aggregate, writes PETE EWINS.
Dave Tooke took the opening leg against Jimmy Robson 5,200-2,740 and was well supported with further wins from Alan Oliver, Kevin Godfrey, Mark Trafford and Steven Sheard.
Oxford will now face Wallingford B in the next round.
Oxford C were knocked out by Portsmouth. They had taken the first leg 4-1 at home, but crashed 5-0 away.
l HOLDERS Didcot Conservative Club lost 3-1 against Horse & Harrow in the Oxon All-England Team Championships.
The victors were Gary Johnson, Pete Welch and Dennis Atkins, the latter coming from behind to beat Phil Collins 8,000-7,500.
