White Horse Judo Club’s Stephen Miles won a bronze medal at the BJC Junior National Championships in Hereford.
Competing in his last junior competition before stepping up to senior level, Miles won five tough fights to claim joint third place in the under 50k boys class.
Gold went to Josh O’Connor (Gendross) with Earl Starbuck (Southfields) taking silver, and Max Maunand (Mercia) the other bronze medallist.
Miles has now been invited to train with the BJC national squad with the opportunity of representing the BJC and Great Britain at international events across the world.
