Thame Town are still looking for their first win of their Division 2 West campaign after a disappointing 101-run defeat by Slough on Saturday.

Although never in the hunt, Thame lost their final wicket with just nine balls remaining, as Bobby Sher took the final three wickets to fall in quick succession.

Having won the toss, Thame asked their opponents to bat first.

And when Slough were reeling at 77-5, it seemed like a wise decision.

But Sher had other ideas, hitting 73 to take the game away from Thame as Slough were dismissed for 213.

In reply, Thame lost early wickets and their run chase never really got going.

Deep in trouble at ???, a ??-run partnership between Jaydeep Bhatti (27no) and Manoj Parma (16) gave Thame hope.

But Sher tore through the last three batsmen as Thame were left to rue what might have been.
