Stephen Malone smashed a venue record as he landed a net of carp weighing 141.04.00 to win the Anne Malone Memorial Match on Stable Lake at Kirtlington.

In horrendous conditions, the ten anglers caught over 500lbs of fish, with Malone’s winning method a feeder switching between meat and pellet.

Also using the method feeder with meat, Anthony Alder was second with 71.00.00.

Roger Malone was third with 64.08.00, using pellet and meet on the method or long pole.

After the match, £87.50 was raised for Sobell House.

The Carp League 2011 travelled over the border into Warwickshire to fish Moorlands Farm, and it fished below-par for the 20 matchmen.

Scott Miller (Predator) fished paste at five metres, landing six big carp to 6lbs to give himself a winning 59.06.00.

Andy Benwell took second with 55.04.00.

Rob Guppy (Panshill) banked two carp each around 13lbs for third with 54.13.00.

With waves a foot high, the Kinloch AC match was always going to be exciting for the 22 matchmen.

The clear winner was Eddie Weston with a net of skimmers and carp weighing 55.13.00.

Weston fished the method feeder with banded pellet.

Using the same method and bate, Joe Welsh was second with 37.10.00, while Graham Wilsdon’s 20.10.00 gave him third place.

North Oxford AS had a cracking match on the canal at Frenchay Road, with the 12 anglers catching a lot of fish.

Jason Bean caught 08.12.00 on chopped worm and maggot for victory.
