Persimmon Village Cup
LAST year’s national runners-up, Shipton-under-Wychwood, can expect a severe test when they visit Horspath in Sunday’s Oxfordshire semi-final (2).
Horspath have already overcome fellow Home Counties Premier League club Aston Rowant, but have yet to reach the competition’s national stages.
Shipton, however, rise to the occasion in the 40-over competition, so are probably slight favourites.
The other semi sees Challow & Childrey host Shrivenham, with the winner at home in the Oxon final on June 12.
Challow are making their first appearance in the competition for more than ten years, while Shrivenham are back after 15 years.
- OCA club Dorchester are urgently seeking an umpire after their regular official had to step down due to illness.
They are looking for an official for Saturday, June 4, and possibly beyond and are willing to pay £50 a game.

- A TASTER session in computer scoring is being offered at St Edward’s School in Oxford.
The training session in using “Total Cricket Scorer” is being run by Mick Warren, with dates available either midweek or at the weekend.
