WALLINGFORD RC’S small contingent of juniors emerged with four wins out of five in the Worcester Spring Regatta.

Their junior women’s quad was a composite with the three Wallingford girls, Alice Walker, Leanne Reeves and Hannah Whelan joining up with Freya Dale (City of Oxford).

While the girls are all in the J15 age group, they competed in older WJ16 race, winning the final against Royal Grammar School, Worcester.

However, their WJ17 final against City of Bristol was closer, with the girls coming from behind to win by just over a length.

Wallingford’s Adam Isherwood and Elijah Hayden won their third consecutive event as they comfortably took the J16 double sculls.

The J15 double of Jasper Lynch and George Axon batttled their way to the final before suffering a narrow defeat by Stourport.

Axon got his compensation with three good wins in the junior 15 single scull category to win the event.
