Radley won the second match of the McCain National Young Athletes League Midland 1 South East Division at Stourport by almost 100 points.

Their top female competitor was under 15 Georgina Sunderland with a throw of 9.80m in the shot and a time of 12.3secs in the 75m hurdles.

Radley’s top boy was Chris Hewitt for his steeplechase and 3,000m victories.

Match result: 1 Radley 481, 2 Bicester & Banbury 383, 3 Hereford 381.

Oxford City finished in first place in their Midland 1 South East Division match at Leamington.

In the under 13 girls’ section, Alice Hopkins clocked a grade three performance of 12.7 in the 70m hurdles and also threw 7.75m in the shot.

Alice Byles won the 75m and 150m and set a personal best of 4.60m in the jump jump – a national grade one performance.

In the 800m, Charlotte Stafford won in a grade three time of 2.33.00.

The boys team were led by under 15 Tom Anstice, who posted three wins in the shot, javelin and discus.

He deservedly won the athlete-of-the-match award for his efforts.

Chinedum Echeta won the long jump and 100m, while Shuweb Ali powered home in the 200 and 400m, both in personal bests times.

Match result: 1 Oxford City 509pts, 2 Leamington 377.

In Southern 1 South West Division, Abingdon Amblers took second place behind Aldershot at Tilsley Park.

There were a string of good performances, with Jack Traynor clocking a national grade four time of 13.9 secs in the under 13 boys’ 100m.

He also won the 75m hurdles in a grade four time of 15.00.

In the under 17 girls’ event, Cordelia Parker won the 3000m in a grade two time of 10.13.1.

Emily Brown clocked a grade four time of 13.5 in the under 15 girls’ 100m and a grade four time of 28.0 in the 200m.
