MARTIN Moran has quit as Wallingford’s director of rugby after one season at the helm.
Moran’s side were hit by a raft of injuries during a campaign that saw them relegated from South West 1 East on the final day.
He said: “The issue was that I and the committee did not see eye to eye on the direction of the club.”
Wallingford chairman Neil Bird said they are now seeking Moran’s replacement.
He added: “Whilst enjoyment, inclusiveness and sportsmanship lie at centre of our playing ethos, we pride ourselves that we retain a strong team spirit that allows us to compete with far more experienced clubs drawing from a far wider geographical area.
“Unfortunately, Martin’s aspirations for the club’s future did not completely match this ethos and, equally, the results on the pitch from last season did not match his aspirations.
“We wish Martin every success in the future.”
