OXFORD United are hopeful that this year’s Open Day – to be held on Saturday, July 2 – could be the biggest one to date.

More than 4,000 people turned up last year, and the club are hopeful even more will attend this year.

United’s new home kit will be unveiled, with fans also given the first chance to see Chris Wilder’s summer signings as they take part in a training session.

The Oxford Mail will again be running a penalty shoot-out competition where five lucky U’s supporters can take on the first team.

Youngsters will play against the first team in a giant match on the Kassam Stadium pitch, as well as being able to get autographs.

Chairman Kelvin Thomas said: “This is always a fantastic day and it’s a great chance for the supporters to come and meet the management team and all the players, including our new signings.

“The younger fans get the chance to play against their heroes and there will be loads of activities to keep everyone entertained for the day.”

Gates open from 10.30am until 2pm and entry is free.
