FORMER New Zealand batsman Lou Vincent has been named in an otherwise inexperienced Sussex team to face Oxford MCCU in their first-class match in The Parks, which starts today (11am).
The right-handed batsman has scored three Test centuries for the Black Caps, with a highest score of 224 against Sri Lanka in 2005.
Head coach Graham Charlesworth is optimistic Oxford can emulate Cambridge MCCU, who beat Surrey by ten wickets earlier this month.
Charlesworth said: “We played Notts and Lancashire in April, but they were close to full strength.
“Sussex are playing a young side, and so this is a bit of an opportunity for us.”
