Oxfordshire Track & Field Championships Senior, Masters & Under 20 round-up

ON a weekend when sprint doubles were the theme, Radley’s Tara Kafke achieved just that in the senior women’s 100 and 200m.

Kafke cruised to victory by almost half a second in the 100m, crossing the line in 12.28, then doubled up to take the 200m in 25.52.

Sarah Davies did likewise in the middle distance events.

The Oxford City ace clocked 2.28.94 in the 800m, before winning the 1500m in 5.04.75, with Radley’s Charlotte Harris taking silver in 5.24.27.

In the 3,000m, Headington Roadrunners’ Helen Barnes provided her club’s only gold of the day, easing home in 10.38.27.

In the under 20 women’s competition, Rebecca Hussey (Oxford City) won the 100m in 12.37, while Abingdon’s Jemma Gregory took gold in the 200m (26.01).

Hussey returned to winning ways in the 400m, clocking 58.77 for first place.

Radley’s Adeline Kam took three gold medals in the Masters competition, winning the shot, discus and javelin.

While Seb Tully-Middleton won the senior men’s 100m in record time, the 200m title went to Oxford University’s Ben Horsley, who clocked 22.93.

The senior men’s competition was dominated by University athletes, who took home ten gold medals in total.

Abingdon Ambler Peter Barnshaw had a field day in the under 20 men’s championship, finishing with five medals in total.

He took silver in the 100m, 200m and 400m, before winning the 400m hurdles and 110m hurdles.

Radley’s Alastair Duncan took home a silver and two golds in the Masters.

Duncan won the 100m and 400m, and was runner-up in the 200m.
