Oxfordshire Track & Field Championships Girls' round-up

LOIS Waknell’s superb season continued as she landed a sprint double in the under 15 girls’ competition.

The Radley ace clocked 12.59 to win the 100m, before taking the 200m in 26.18.

There was a battle royale in the 800m, where Banbury Harriers’ Tory Mobley edged out Radley’s Megan Humphreys for the title.

Mobley clocked 2.21.59 to win the event, with Humphreys taking silver.

Humphreys made up for this disappointment by winning the 1500m in 5.06.50.

Kathryn Woodcock claimed a golden treble in the throwing events, winning the shot (7.61m), discus (34.00m) and hammer (26.47m).

In the under 13 girls’ category, Oxford City’s Alice Byles won both the 100 and 200m, while Charlotte Stafford did likewise in the 800m and 1500m.

Byles added a third gold when she won the long jump.

The under 17 girls’ 100 and 200m were both won by Banbury’s Heidi Brooke-Little, while Radley’s Hayley Perrin took gold in the high jump and long jump.

Sophie Lloyd (White Horse Harriers) also took two golds in the 800 and 1500m.
