The George and Cricketers B produced a feast of Aunt Sally in Section 1 of the Greene King Oxford & District League, containing five sixes and 188 dolls, writes ANDY BEAL.

Cricketers set the opening leg with 26, which George passed with ease on 32.

George then compiled a titanic score of 36, setting up a 2-0 lead – although Cricketers replied with a respectable 31. Cricketers took the final leg 33-30.

The George’s Dave Sawyer hit a double sixer in his 15 dolls (6-6-3), with teammates Kevin Giles (4-4-6) and John Weller (4-5-5) scoring 14.

Philip Adams also hit 15 dolls (4-5-6) for Cricketers, Pip Goulding (5-4-5) and Kevin Baker (4-6-4) bagging 14 apiece.

Eddie Edwards smashed off 15 dolls (5-4-6) for Three Pigeons, who lost 2-1 at home to Black Swan.

Swan edged the opening leg 24-23, with anchor man Dave Green bagging four dolls, while Mark Buckland’s six helped win the next 31-30.

Pigeons took the final leg on three sticks after anchor man Neil Lyon clanged off five dolls. Swan’s Martin Green top-scored with 14 (4-5-5).

In Section 2, it was unlucky 13 for Squire Bassett’s Paul Holt as he clanged off a baker’s dozen (5-4-4), but still ended up on the losing side to Gladiators 2-1.

Squire took the opening leg 22-19, but then went down 22-21 and 20-16, Woodman’s Charlie Buckingham bagged himself 13 dolls (3-4-6) as they beat Six Bells 3-0 with leg scores of 17-16, 19-18 and 20-17.

Anchor man Peter King sealed legs one and two with three and four dolls.

Chequers’ Roger Clements bagged his first six in ten years as they won 3-0 at The Crown in Section 3, taking the legs 22-14, 17-17, 21-14.

Jeff Glenister bagged a 13-doll haul (6-4-3) in The Griffin’s 3-0 win over Green Road Club in Section 4.

Griffin won 24-17, 21-16, 21-20. Terry Lester hit a six for Green Road.

On his 65th birthay, Tony Nicholls collected a six in his 14 dolls (4-4-6) for Six Bells, Kidlington A in Section 5.

It was 1-1 when New Club set 14 in the final leg. In the chase Six Bells mustered up ten dolls from their first six players until Nicholls to clanged off his maximum to give Bells victory.

In Section 6, Michael Crook was in top form for Nut Tree with a dozen dolls (4-3-5), but they went down 2-1 at home to Catherine Wheel, 14-19, 18-18, 13-16.

Despite scoring more dolls than their opponents, Fair-view B lost 2-1 to Prince of Wales in Section 9.

Fairview easily won the opening leg 17-6, but Prince took the next two 13-11, 14-10.

Original Swan and The Priory hit 36 dolls apiece, but it was the latter who came away victorious 2-1.

The first two legs were shared 13-12, 13-12, with the final leg tied at 11-11 – and Priory winning it on three sticks 7-6.
