HAPLESS Tetsworth fielded only eight players and were comprehensively slammed by Shrivenham in Division 1 on Saturday.

Adam Tucker smashed 137 not out and Mark Whale 104 not out as Shrivenham rattled up 263 without loss, before Ernie Howe (5-14) ran through the threadbare Tetsworth team in double quick time.

It took Shrivenham just 16 overs to skittle out their visitors for a paltry 43 – a highly embarrassing start for the former champions.

Garsington are the early pacesetters as they eased to an 88-run victory over Minster Lovell.

Keith Parsler scored 100 in Garsington’s 219-8, Matt Green taking 4-48.

Minster’s reply saw them all out for 131, with only Eddie Dunn (43) getting going.

In Division 2, Tom White claimed 5-24 as Faringdon overran Freeland by eight wickets.

Freeland were shot out for 68, before Faringdon eased to 71-2 in 19 overs.

Marsh Gibbon saw off Hook Norton by 70 runs.

Posting 185-7 – Wayne Platts top-scored with 37 – Marsh Gibbon then dismissed their visitors for 115 as Stewart Black claimed 3-23.

Four victims apiece from Azhar Shah and James Walton helped Broughton & North Newington to an eight-wicket win at Witney Swifts.

Swifts were all out for 98, before Jason Tilcock (43) and Ansar Aslam (36no) steered Broughton home.

Ivan Mulford scored 80 not out as East & West Hendred crushed East Oxford 2nd by ten wickets in Division 3.

Eddie Glover took 5-25 in East Oxford’s 119 all out, before Mulford dominated Hendred’s reply of 124-0.

Danny Harding’s 86 led Chadlington to a seven wicket win at Eynsham.

The home side were bowled out for 154, before Harding and Richard Ingram (54no) took Chadlington to victory.

An unbeaten 74 from Talib Hussain saw Westcott to a six-wicket win ovr West Ilsley.

Steve Strong claimed 4-13 as Watlington eased to a 60-run win at Winslow Town.

In Division 4, Chipping Norton walloped Kennington by 112 runs.

Having been bowled out for 146, Chippy ran through Kennington for a paltry 34 as Jim McGeown took 5-17 and Pete Bartlett 4-13.

John Perkins’s maiden league century (139) saw Wootton & Boars Hill to a massive 332-6 at Deddington.

James Studds chipped in with 75, and the target proved way beyond Deddington, who were bowled out for 159 as Alex Fisher and John Fisher took three wickets apiece.
