OCA League Divisions 5-11

DORCHESTER bounced back from the previous weekend’s mauling by Minster Lovell 2nd with a five-wicket win at Freeland 2nd in Division 6.

Batting first, Freeland were rolled out for 118 as Lawrence Belcher took 4-31 and Steve McComb 3-15.

In reply, Dorchester eased home at 119-5 with Adrian Redhead hitting 52 and James Rockall 31.

Duncan Macdonald scored 91 not out to ease Kilkenny to a six-wicket win at home to Chalgrove.

The visitors had posted 172 all out with Dave Edwards scoring 75.

Maconald then saw Kilkenny to 176-4.

In Division 5, Horley 2nd edged to a two-wicket win at Chesterton.

Paul Hammond’s 72 helped Chesterton to 187 all out, Richard Hart (3-36), Nick Hibbard (3-40) and Matthew Burden (3-49) shining with the ball for Horley.

Nigel Leach’s 42 was the main contribution as Horley reached 188-8.

Nick Glister scored 66 as Great Horwood 2nd eased to a 78-run victory over Cassington.

Horwood rattled up 201 all out, Jason Fuller claiming 4-47.

Vaughan Roberts then scored 42 in Cassington’s reply, but they were all out for 123.

In Division 7, Dan Smith returned superb figures of 6-19 to help Kings Sutton to an eight-wicket win at Tetsworth 2nd.

The home side fared only slightly better than their first team as they crashed to 61 all out, then Lee Humphrey hit 42 not out to see Kings Sutton to 62-2.

Veteran Ron Ridgeway claimed 6-22 as Westbury 2nd beat Ducklington by 117 runs.

Ducklington were shot out for 93 chasing Westbury’s 210-8, for whom Ben Curley top-scored with 78.

Martin Kalyan played a starring role with bat and ball to help Risinghurst to an eight-wicket win at Hook Norton 2nd.

Kalyan took 5-23 to help dismiss Hooky for 101, before scoring 49 as Risinghurst reached 102-2.

Freddie Simon scored an unbeaten century in Chadlington 2nd’s 127-run win over Eynsham 2nd in Division 8.

Simon hit 103 not out in Chadlington’s 229-8, before Sam Bunney claimed 3-13 as Eynsham were all out for 102.

In Division 9, youngster Josh Lock hit 70 not out as Minster Lovell 3rd beat Charlbury 3rd by four wickets.

Leigh Smith and Dave Mayers claimed three wickets each to restrict Charlbury to 172-8, Jim Astle scoring 61.

Lock’s unbeaten 70 then saw Minster to 173-6.

East & West Hendred 2nd edged past Chinnor by two wickets in a thrilling clash.

Matty Turner (4-38) and Will Bennett (3-21) combined to restrict Chinnor to 196-9, then Hendred reached 201-8 for victory, hitting a six off the penultimate ball to seal the win.

An unbroken century stand between Andrew Story (53no) and Tom Harris (51no) saw Sunningwell 2nd ease to a nine-wicket win against Deddington 2nd in Division 10.

Deddington were bowled out for 117, Harris taking 4-29.

And after losing Robert Hussey for a duck, Harris and Story saw Sunningwell to victory.

In Division 11, Kilkenny 2nd’s first ever league match ended in a 54-run victory at Risinghurst 2nd.

Andrew Ashman hit 61 and Daniel Floyd 39 in Kilkenny’s competitive total of 222-7.

James Floyd (3-24) and Dwayne Knipe (3-36) then shone with the ball as Risinghurst fell to 168 all out.

Peter McHenry’s half-century (57) helped Great Horwood 3rd to a four-wicket win away to Hanney 2nd.
