Thame Town suffered a heavy 126-run defeat against newly promoted hosts Burnham in their opening Division 2 West clash on Saturday.
Good spells from Sam Lachlan (2-43) and Will Rooney (2-25) helped reduce Burnham to 80-3 at lunch after they had been put in.
But sensible batting from Aftab Khan and Obaid Sarwar (69) in the middle of the innings helped steer them to 216-9.
In the last ten overs, the pitch was showing signs of variable bounce and began to turn sharply.
Burnham opened the bowling with off spinner Aftab Khan (4-42), who proved difficult to get away.
An opening spell of 4-24 by veteran seamer Mohammad Fazal destroyed Thame’s top order and they crumbled to 90 all out off 34 overs.
