Former winners Banbury Central A crashed to a shock 73-60 defeat against Woodstock in the Oxford & District League Cup second round.

Central had already been shaken up in the first round of the competition, which is sponsored by S&J Timms Cleaning Services and Rub A Dub Dub Laundrette, when they narrowly scraped through against Bicester on an extra end.

Rover enjoyed a 82-56 win over Shiplake, and now face Carterton, who crushed Witney Town 95-40.

League and cup champions Headington A have breezed through to the last eight, thumping Kidlington 95-44 in round two.

However, only three Division 1 teams have reached tonight’s quarter-finals.

2nd round results: Rover 82, Shiplake 56; Carterton 95, Witney Town 40; Headington B 65, West Oxford 53; Kidlington 44, Headington A 95; Woodstock 73, Banbury Central A 60; Hanborough 69, Oxford City & County A 78; West Witney 72, Chadlington 65; Banbury Chestnuts 61, Watlington 57.

Hanborough are offering open sessions on Mondays, May 9, 16 and 23 at 6.30pm and May 30 (2pm) – and hope to see some new faces.
