Oxford United held champions-elect Chesterfield to a 0-0 draw at the Kassam Stadium despite losing two centre halves.

Jimmy Sangare injured his metatarsal, and hobbled off before half-time.

And his replacement, Mitchell Hanson, lasted just 12 minutes before he was stretchered off following a clash of heads.

United played some fine football and were unlucky not to win, with Chesterfield keeper Tommy lee saving well from Alfie Potter and James Constable, and skipper Dwayne Mattis making two outstanding blocks.

The U's dropped to 13th in the table with this second successive 0-0 draw, but have Harry Worley available again after suspension for Monday's visit to Barnet.
