Asa Hall returns to Oxford United’s midfield for today’s game against promoted npower League Two leaders Chesterfield at the Kassam Stadium.

And Jimmy Sangare makes his full home debut in place of the suspended Harry Worley, hoping to repeat his fine display against Accrington Stanley last week.

Hall comes into the side following the recall of Ryan Burge by Doncaster Rovers, whose manager, Sean O’Driscoll, has wanted to assess all his club’s players for their crucial run-in.

However, Burge could yet return to Oxford after Easter for the last couple of games.

The U’s had a doubt in the week over Damian Batt, who was ill, and will be hoping that the right back, chosen in the PFA League Two Select side, has recovered.

Steve MacLean could return up front, with Alfie Potter among the substitutes.

Top-scorer James Constable also comes back into the starting line-up, with Ryan Doble dropping to the bench.

Simon Heslop has recovered from the knock he received in the first half of the 0-0 draw at Accrington.

Sangare said: “We’ve done well against the top teams this season, especially at home.

“Last week was my first start for the club and I was itching for that first start.

“I did OK and hopefully I can have a second start and we can do well as a team.

“Both this and Monday’s game at Barnet will be tough games. Barnet, near the bottom, will be fighting for their lives – but we’re really trying to avoid losing again this season.”

Chesterfield clinched promotion yesterday without kicking a ball, as Wycombe could only draw 0-0 at TorquayS United.

But the Spireites are eyeing the title, and need only two wins from their last four games to secure it.

More than 8,000 fans are expected and there should be a carnival-type atmosphere.
