The Betfair Pall Mall Stakes, which gets under way in June, is now officially a category one race.
Keen-eyed racing manager Gary Baiden spotted that the race was not included in the calendar as a category one event, as it always has been, so queried the reason and now it is back as one of the top events of the year.
To clear up the matter, all category one races must have at least £12,500 prize money. This year’s winner will receive £8,000.

THE dog to follow at the moment is the Nick Colton-trained Vivas Tiger.
He has won five out of his ten races.
The Gilly Hepden-trained Ballymac Shane has won four of his last eight and Michael Peterson’s Teds Porsche has won his last three outings.
