Karl Walker won the Gent-works Oxford & District League’s Walt Bradbury Cup for the third consecutive season, and for a fifth time in total, after a hard-fought final against Gavin Wright. The opening four frames in the best of seven match were all rather scrappy with neither player seemingly able to stamp his mark on the match.

Walker took the opening frame 61-36 before Wright hit back to win the second 64-6 and the third 57-47.

Wright then made a break of 32 in the fourth frame, but it was not enough and Walker came through to take it 74-54 and level the tie at 2-2.

This proved the turning point, and Walker took the fifth 80-0 (80 break) before going on to win the sixth frame 63-17 and with it the match.

In the best-of-five frame semi-finals, Walker beat Peter Franklin 3-0 while Wright disposed of Mick Bennett 3-1.
