ROB Harrhy drove the final green to seal Frilford Heath’s 2½-½ victory over The Oxfordshire in Section 1 of the Shaw Gibbs Oxfordshire Foursomes League.

Harrhy reached the 298-yard 18th hole on Frilford’s Green Course, setting him and Joe Richardson up for a one-hole victory over The Oxfordshire’s Nigel Lucas and Andy Stubbs.

Frilford now top the table with three wins from three.

Home pair Ashley Walton and Sandy Bolton defeated Alex Stubbs and Geoff Archer 5&4 in match one.

Frilford’s Michael Younie and Luke Williams halved match two with Dan Knight and Mark Shimmin.

John McClure’s fine short game helped Studley Wood beat defending champions Chipping Norton 2-1.

McClure and Nick Mortimer saw off Shaun Kench and Mark Stanton 2&1.

  • ANDREW Malone, from Cholsey, near Wallingford, won the Audi quattro Cup UK qualifier at Stoke Park.

The 58-year-old carded 35 stableford points to pip Duncan Deacon, from London, by one point.

All the top four from Stoke Park will compete in the regional final at Goodwood, near Chichester on July 7.

  • OXFORD City and Oxford Ladies combined to see off Burford 6½-5½ at Southfield in the first leg of their traditional friendly.

The match, which was extended to a 12-pair contest this year, saw Oxford Ladies captain Ruth Stockford hole a 25-foot birdie putt en route to a 3&2 victory in her contest.

Burford will host the return leg on September 24.
