JOEY Todd’s touchline penalty gave Oxford Harlequins a remarkable 42-42 draw at Bridgwater & Albion.

Todd struck in the final minute to cap a match that had ebbed and flowed throughout.

Quins took the lead on three minutes with Todd’s first penalty and he was soon converting a try from wing Harry Burn.

Bridgwater hit back with a try from centre Rob Allen before Quins lost midfielder Jeff Stewart to a leg injury.

Steve Osborne’s penalty and Damian Griffin’s try put the hosts 13-10 up.

Quins wing Martin Nutt bagged a 40-metre solo try, as did Ryan Newman after moving to centre to cover for the injured Xavier Andre, Todd converting the latter.

A try from Bridgwater’s Matt House reduced the arrears to 22-18 after the break.

But in a 13-minute period, Newman and Burn both scored again, Todd converting each time.

Quins then switched off as pushover tries from Carl Brown, Matt Hastie and John Bryant, the latter converted by Colin Hancock, made it 36-35.

Todd kicked a penalty on 71 minutes, but had to save the day after Hancock converted a 78th-minute try from Brown.

Chinnor sealed fourth spot with a 41-8 victory over Newton Abbot at Kingsey Road.

They led on six minutes when wing Huw Morgan scored in the corner, fly half James Cathcart converting.

Abbot’s handling let them down as they looked to attack, while a penalty from Alex Jeffrey and two from Cathcart made it 13-3 at half-time.

Chinnor had flanker Nick Harrison sin-binned and Newton Abbot scored a try through wing Jake Monnington.

However, four tries in 22 minutes, all converted by Cathcart, sealed an emphatic victory.

Flanker Ed Vickers scored after a period of scrum dominance, while wing Toby Prescott touched down after sparkling runs from centre Matt Goode and full back Mark Chase.

Wing Richard Williams and Chase completed the try tally on 72 and 76 minutes.
