BB&O round-up

A HAT-TRICK of tries from Jack Briggs proved in vain as Gosford All Blacks lost 40-17 at home to Swindon College Old Boys in the Premier Division.

Centre Briggs crossed three times at Stratfield Brake, with scrum half Tim Sutton adding one conversion.

Swindon led 26-12 after a first half that saw 55-year-old Gosford hooker Brian Strong come on for his final competitive appearance.

Toby Haynes (3), Richard Hill, Mike Calvert and Richard White bagged Swindon’s tries, with Scott Buchanan converting five.

Wing Owen Wells scored a club record seven tries as Littlemore won 78-15 at Henley 4th in Division 1 South.

Centre Frank Jones (2), prop Terry Eltham, fly half Lee Gillett, centre Dean Andrews, No 8 Darren Massey and wing Max O’Odonnell also crossed, with Jones and Gillett converting two apiece.

Littlemore will finish second should their bonus-point victory over Farnham Royal be confirmed.

Didcot wrapped up their season in Division 2 South with a 69-0 win over Wallingford 3rd, Andy Taylor and Sam Lacy scoring try trebles.

John Madley, Joe Leverson, Joe Morris, Steve Stone and Ben Brind also touched down, with Taylor and Stone kicking three conversions each and Leverson the other.
