Oxford City 2 (Ballard 18, 90)

Banbury Utd 2 (Ashton 37, Green 54)

Andy Ballard’s last-gasp equaliser earned Oxford City a draw in their Premier Division derby with Banbury United at Court Place Farm.

With time running out it looked as though City were going to end up empty handed, but Ballard headed home Felipe Barcelos’s corner for his second of the game to make it all square.

City were already safe, but the point ensured Banbury’s top-flight status.

Former City player Jack Ashton had the first attempt on goal, but his effort was always going wide.

And it was City who took the lead after 18 minutes when Ballard raced into the area to send an unstoppable header from Wayne Blossom’s super cross past Joe Murrell.

City keeper Joe White made a decent save to turn Declan Benjamin’s shot away for a corner.

But Banbury were in the 37th minute with Ashton heading home Ollie Stanbridge’s cross.

Dave Savage’s went close with a free kick for City as the first half ended with honours even.

Banbury took the lead in the 54th minute when Will Green raced through before drawing City keeper Joe White and shooting into an empty net.

City kept pressing an Lee Steele had an effort smothered, while Murrell turned away shots from Savage and Michael Lyon.

But their persistence paid off with Ballard’s late leveller.
