OXFORD City Road Club’s first time trial on their new Witney ten-mile course saw four riders break the 20-minute barrier.
Chris Ball (BioBike RT) took the honours in 19mins 26secs for the route that started and finished near Barnard Gate on the A40.
But Stu Dodd (DragToZero) was just a second behind in securing the runners-up spot.
Nicholas Hutchings (CS Grupetto) completed the podium with 19.30, while Sebastian Pancratz (Beeline Bikes RT) was first of the local riders, finishing fourth in 19.59.
The open event attracted 90 riders, with Saturday’s good weather making for fast times.
OCRC will host another open event on the course on June 5.
