Didcot Town’s hopes of avoiding the drop from the Zamaretto Southern League Premier Division suffered a blow with a 4-2 defeat at Cambridge City on Tuesday night.
They went behind to two goals in three minutes from Rob Nightingale, but Elliott Osbourne-Ricketts struck twice in the 14th and 23rd minutes to make it 2-2.
Joey Abbs restored City’s lead in the 27th minute and his second goal after the break sealed Didcot’s fate.
North Leigh drew 1-1 at home to Cinderford to keep alive their Division 1 South & West promotion bid.
They trailed to a Max Etheridge goal after only three minutes, but hit back through Kieran Sanders’s 20-yard volley.
Sanders struck the bar with a free-kick in the second half.
