Oxford head coach Alan Hancock was not too downhearted, despite their heavy defeat to Newbury Stags.
Hancock said: “The scoreline didn’t really reflect the game.
“A lack of numbers let us down.
“I was happy with our forwards and the set-piece was solid.”
He added: “We needed a bit more commitment. We could have done better.
“We wanted to play a different type of game to them, but we made a few too many basic errors.
“We wanted to pick and drive instead of sucking their defence in and then hitting them out wide.”
