Oxford Hawks under 16 girls finished runners-up in the England national plate finals in Manchester.
Hawks defeated Bowdon 2-1 in their first game, with goals coming from Sophie Bennett and Abigail Flory. Following a short break, they then took on Old Loughtonians, going ahead via a Charlotte Burrows goal.
Only several good saves from the Old Loughts keeper denied Hawks further goals before their opponents hit back to equalise.
Hawks then had a long wait for the outcome of the Bowdon v Old Loughts game which the latter won 3-0, leaving Hawks second on goal difference.
The squad Hawks squad was Sophie McIvor, Georgia Perkins, Sally Clark, Megan Wilds, Laura Scragg, Katie Cannon, Charlotte Cannon, Charlotte Burrows, Megan Davies, Abigail Flory, Jess Oakhill, Sophie Bennett, Jenny Dingwall and Lucy Millington.
