North Leigh 4 (Hopkins 1, Reardon 12, Hole 37, Taylor 39)

North Leigh boosted their Division 1 West play-off hopes with a superb display at Stourport.

Four first-half goals ended the game as a contest and saw Mark Gee’s side move to within three points of fifth-placed Almondsbury – and they have four games in hand.

They took the lead inside 30 seconds when Michael Hopkins sent a looping header into the far corner beyond the reach of home keeper Paul Evans from a deep cross by winger Josh Dutton-Black.

They doubled their lead when Ben Reardon exchanged passes with Hopkins before neatly clipping the ball into the net past a stranded Evans.

It was 3-0 when Matty Taylor was tripped in the box and Stuart Hole fired in at the second attempt after Evans saved his initial shot.

The home side’s misery was completed six minutes before half time when Taylor bagged No 4, beating a couple of defenders before hitting a low hard shot past Evans at his near post for his 38th goal in all competitions.

After the break, keeper Adam Lonsdale denied John Griffin as Stourport tried to get back in the game.

Taylor had a header cleared off the line as North Leigh kept up their dominance as they lifted their chances of play-off glory.
