Cheltenham Sara 4 (Crosskey 25, 28, Hammond 55, 77)
Headington Am 1 (Jacob 80)
Headington’s Division 1 West title charge suffered a dent as they were handed a harsh lesson in finishing.
The visitors started strongly, with Ollie Zaja twice denied by Ryan Betteridge in the Cheltenham goal.
Cheltenham took the lead when Andy Crosskey fired firmly past Harry Jenkins in the Headington goal.
Three minutes later, it got worse for the visitors when Crosskey’s volley made it 2-0 to the home side.
After the break, Jamie Hammond’s simple finish put them 3-0 up, before the same player netted No 4 with a hard, low finish.
Although Headington pulled a goal back through Shaun Jacob after Aftab Hafiz’s shot was half-cleared, it was too late as Cheltenham strolled in.
Letcombe 0
Clanfield 0
Letcombe dealt Clanfield’s hopes of turning up the pressure on second-placed Bicester Town with a deserved draw.
Clanfield dominated the game territorially, but a well- organised home defence gave the visitors no clear openings.
Jamie Rutter had a shot saved by Clanfield keeper Chris Brain, who then denied Joe Laver.
After the break, Clanfield created few chances, though a minute from time Lee Keyes almost snatched it for themwith a shot that crashed off the bar.
