Wootton & Dry Sandford put a dent in Lambourn Sports’ Division 1 title challenge – ending their five-match winning streak with a 2-2 draw, writes PHIL ANNETS.

Ben Matthews struck twice for Lambourn between Dave Humphrey’s opener and Josh Nicholl’s equaliser.

Saxton Rovers took advantage of the leaders slip-up to close the gap to four points with a 2-1 win at Drayton.

Mike Beal and Garry Hartley scored, with Ryan Seamark replying.

AFC Wallingford kept in the hunt thanks to a Jordan Brown hat-trick and a Komal Llewellyn-Reid strike that saw off Faringdon Town 4-0.

Doubles from Joe Ledbury and Mike Cannings gave Childrey United a 4-1 win at Harwell Village, for whom Gareth Fenton scored.

Tim Holtom netted the only goal as Crowmarsh Gifford won 1-0 at Kintbury Rangers.

Benson AFC maintained their Division 2 promotion push with a 7-1 victory at bottom side Saxton Rovers Res, who lost for the tenth time in a row.

Nick Skiller and Chris Roberts both hit two, with Joe Flower, James Taylor and Damien Rigozzi also on the mark. Martin Neal replied.

  • THE Nairne Paul Trophy final, to be played at Abingdon United FC on Saturday, will be between Division 3 sides, Benson AFC Res and Drayton Res.

Benson keeper George Faulkner saved two penalties to see them through 2-1 against Faringdon Town Res, following extra-time goals from Pete Ashman and Brian Ferris.

Drayton Res put their poor league form on hold to see off Division 4 outfit East Hendred Res 2-1.

Kevin Pryde quickly equalised David Stanley’s opener, only for George Lester to settle it in first-half injury time for Drayton.
