Witney Utd 0

Shrivenham 1 (Robertson 54)

Despite Richard Hill’s return as manager, Witney slipped into the Premier Division relegation zone with a lacklustre 1-0 defeat at home to fellow strugglers Shrivenham on Saturday.

Hill (pictured), who was persauded to come back as boss a week after resigning saw his side miss a great chance to go 2-0 up in the opening five minutes.

First, Sean McKeon was bundled over in the box. but Joe Tustain watched in horror as he blazed his penalty high over the crossbar.

Moments la-ter and a burst of pace by Matt Blenford saw him race clear and slot home but the winger was judged to have been offside.

That was as good as it got for the Blanketmen.

Early in the second half, Witney’s defence failed to ldeal with a long ball, and Shrivenham striker Steve Robertson controlled well before firing home to leave Witney in the bottom four.
